01The brief

Cut-and-sew pieces for a collaborative runway show on the Intrepid.

Barriers wanted to do a collaborative runway show with Who Decides War for New York Fashion Week. The challenge was making pieces that lined up with Who Decides War's values while carrying Barriers' own aesthetic and message, on a short clock.

First-round concepts were due within 4 days of kickoff, and everything had to get from LA to New York for fittings 2 days before the show. The collection was cut-and-sew hoodies with graphics inspired by the Tuskegee Airmen and civil-rights leaders including Malcolm X, MLK, Frederick Douglass and Marcus Garvey, shown on the Intrepid.
